Dominating Omaha Beach, it contains more than 9.000 perfectly alligned graves. A chapel and a memorial provide a moving visit to this place of remembrance.   

 


hocLa Pointe du Hoc.

This symbol of the sacrifice of young American soldiers was a fortified German outpost. It was taken by direct assault by Ranger Colonel Rudder, on June 6, 1944.

This canon responded to cannon fire from Allied ships the morning of June 6, 1944.  It is the last coastal artillery battery that still has its cannons intact, and gives us an idea of what the Atlantic Wall must have been like.
