and beautiful 17th-18th century "hôtel particuliers" (private mansions). Visit the Place des Vosges, (right) where you'll see the former apartments of the King and Queen of France. Explore the Jewish quarter, the Picasso or Carnavalet Museums, and browse in the district's chic shops and galleries.
City Islands: Cité and St. Louis

sle de la Cité is the very heart of Paris. Visit the Conciergerie and Sainte Chapelle, the jewel-like chapel known for its incredible stained glass windows. On to Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Holocaust Memorial that sits just behind the famous cathedral. Crossing a small bridge, you'll arrive on the Isle St. Louis with its many 17th and 18th century mansions. Stroll through the island's charming streets, peek into its galleries and shops.
